Renown treasure hunter, Burt Webber, is recovering artifacts from the site of an early 18th Century Spanish shipwreck off of the north coast of the Dominican Republic. Burt is using the 725 K, and found the earring in the photo with it. This earring is early 18th Century gold, with 28 bangle mounted seed pearls.
The Spanish galleon is referred to as the "Solo Dios Gloria" 1696 from the inscription and date that was on the previously recovered bronze bell.

Jerry found these artifacts on a colonial site in southwestern Ohio during 1995-2006. His research indicated that Alexander Smith owned this farm in 1830. His son, Alexander Smith, Jr., served in the Civil War on active duty for 90 days in Washington, DC. He may have been part of a drum and bugle corps.
The belt buckle is from the 1850s era. The decorative clips and ring have characteristics of the 1812 war era. There is also pad lock, buttons, and musket balls. If you have any information about the history of these finds, please email or call us!

In October 2009, Jerry used the SECON® 725 K to do some hunting on the beautiful beaches in the Siesta Keys of Florida. Although he did not find a pirate's treasure, he did find several pieces of metal.
